predictable nights
a cycle of time
lost and in a second to be
we count on a trivial item
– nail varnish
to stifle a routine
change it into something

the ordinary
at night is amplified
small talk into discussion
hopes into promises
we know we won’t keep

some lampshade slouches in worry
its rough-and-ready character murders
our ego while asleep
in times
when everything insightful
was already said and done
we are left with
a cheap happy ever after
it could be a curse or a favor
it could switch us off completely, too

February 2013 (3)

a love chill
spread around
is the only selling item
she could get for free
so sighs dramatically at stinging paper cut

in a series of moments
crammed full with intense experience
she carries a gift in a plastic bag
her fingernails press hard
into flesh of the palm
want to do something
and call it nothing
she could not keep her gaze off
of a price tag
worries spiral down the throat
lodge in her ribcage
she surprised herself by not casting
to be rescued from the heart of matter
if a plan sucks
vision his let – me – tell – you deserves nothing
which she hopes to get less anyway (14th February 2013)
