WHILE THINGS ARE THROWN HASTILY IN A BAG
if buzzing days
had not been sidetracked
by bad accidents
we wouldn’t have walked to boss office
confused by his ‘I am so sorry for your loss’
we would have kept on feeling lonely
for years but never seconds
there might have not been
a knock at the door
police cars lined up at the front
grief might have not been
crumpled between fingers
previously welded to coffee cups
maybe we would have still strung pearls
into a necklace of good moments
shining and perfect
as toys never were

A NEED TO BE A STORY TELLER
one may wonder
how many movie scenes
were shot in a car:
broken hearts of a foolish kiss
open to what was promised
ended up lost in a romantic maze
that’s an obvious vision

through a whole day an asphalt
sucks in heat and stinking fumes
to let them out at night
one does not foresee a suicidal someone
could get punched with those foul odors
jumped out on the next turn
rolled over into a highway
like a beef roulade with no gravy
one does not imagine cops
finding someone slowly gassing himself
who wanted to get drunk
but fallen asleep in a broken car
I do,
my mind lives on exits
holds uncommon stories
ready to be told (21st July 2015)

LIFE SOUNDS REMARKABLE WHEN RECOUNTED BY THE LOVED ONES
he could hear her fists
thud on a chest
sobs in a deep asthmatic inhales
determined not to show a weakness
eyes circled by death’s mascara
her comfort was draining away
each time nurse pierced the wrong vein

he needed strong hands
to push him through
days melting into weeks
turning into years
a dictator mother yanked away
from unprepared concerns
invalidated his faith

the gap she left was enormous
even if narrowed family by only one
youth moved on
his own and not his own
he closed off to mysteries of adolescence
carried all sorts of recollection
with no chance to return (21st July 2015)

SOMETHING ALONE DOES NOT EXIST
all was new to me
when I was floating inside her
our story was there
and was in the universe
rolled a dice
no one could hold us down
long crouching hours finally crushed the hips
but we kept fingers laced together as a bridge

the story was about:
unclotted eyes,
pinky gums that haven’t chewed the flesh,
dwelling on how to fill the gaps in all conversations to come
‘I’ was used as a vowel
to embody hard-limbed plastic
glossy-eye whites with shellac lashes
we lived the living for unconditional love
as we both hated the attention
and desperately needed it (06th July 2015)

EUCHARIST MELTING IN HER THROAT
slow-mo final act
God as a witness
scratched her face
with a cutting edge of his eye

maybe she closed all windows
did not think of take-me-please urges
while turning the gas on
maybe she felt betrayed
by the little time left
made a clumsy farewell with a shoe collection
left needless worries
hastily ripped by gentle fingers

she got this country out of the sight
for good
an enemy dressed in muteness

a detective who took her case
wanted to touch that sadness
sheer and tulle
– she has never looked so elegant as did then (05th July 2015)
