DISHWASHER
inside the machine
rallies are washed off plates
devise ensures gender gap
comes only from malfunction
me, good hostess
with head full of others’ talk
breathe deeply
instead of being breathed
black suits
dresses perfectly ironed
harass my arms
spill something more
than dripping minutes
latest gossips line the bin
already beginning to stink
awkward silence
fun is when they begin waving goodbye
through the taxi’s rear window
I wave back because fancy them rotten
shoved in
with programmed full cycle (21st June 2013)
