WHEN THEY PUT KIDS TO BED
memory is something
for which they had a fair use
is reversible like a jumper
they must have worn
against bulletproof silhouettes

spoke quietly
of how they were slaughtered
syllables
rolled on a table towards families
who did not hear intimate confession
until obituary letter came
can we blame them if
wished to leave cherished words for later
sin inside faith
ripe cherries of blood stains
marooned dressings
on corpse remaining silent
everything mingled
ammunition and foreign languages
second hand days embraced by metal fear
fed themselves with own stinking breaths
out of hunger (12th February 2013)
